With the completion of the A629 Salterhebble to Shaw Hill project, residents and visitors are now using the new puffin crossings in the area.
There's lots of advice and guidance out there to help people to use them properly. The Department for Transport have a simple and easy to read leaflet aimed at making your journeys safe. Here's a summary of their advice:
"Puffin crossings make crossing the road easier and safer. They have the Red/Green Man signals on the same side of the road as you are waiting to cross, allowing you to watch these signals and traffic at the same time. On other types of crossings, Red/Green Man signals are normally on the other side of the road."
