£150m+ invested in Calderdale
Transport improvement programme
Congestion, long journey times and poor air quality is currently experienced along the A629. Kirklees Council, in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, is working toward a programme of transport improvements on the A629 between Huddersfield and Ainley Top that will address these issues and drive economic growth.
The proposals form part of a series of highway improvements to the A629 between Huddersfield and Halifax.
The A629 Ainley Top to Huddersfield project will make improvements at the following locations:
Yew Tree Road to Ainley Top roundabout (Ainley Top). Lengthening the approach lanes to the roundabout from Yew Tree Road. A new signal controlled left slip to bypass the roundabout for traffic travelling to the M62. Dedicated northbound cycle lane (Yew Tree Road to roundabout).
Kirklees Council are currently engaging the public about their plans for the A629. To find out more and get involved, visit their website: www.kirklees.gov.uk/beta/transport-roads-and-parking/major-transport-sch...
