The Piece Hall

One of the UK’s most significant heritage projects, this Grade I listed building has been conserved and transformed after a £19m renovation. It’s a unique and iconic building, and the 2017 re-opening of the building helped to put Halifax and Calderdale well and truly on the map.

The monumental Grade I listed structure is the finest example of a cloth hall, an iconic symbol of the important role played by Georgian Halifax at the booming centre of the world’s woollen trade.

The transformation of The Piece Hall is central to the renaissance of the whole town. The Piece Hall draws people from far and wide to experience the creative bustle of modern life in one of the most striking piazzas in Europe. It provides a 21st Century town square for everyone to enjoy. The immense, open air square is enclosed by a mix of independent bars, restaurants, shops, cafes and creative businesses.

The Piece Hall Trust is an independent body who will is responsible for managing the space and realising this next chapter. For more information, please visit thepiecehall.co.uk
