In zone 3, we are going to make walking along Cousin Lane and nearby snickets a safer and more pleasant experience. There will be new crossings and measures to make roads safer for everyone.
Benefits
A better walking experience
We’re going to resurface and widen paths along snickets and add signage, dropped kerbs and other features that will make routes safer and easier to use. There will be new planting too.
We will add new crossings and a continuous footway, raised to cross some of the junctions along Cousin Lane.
Safer roads
We’re going to put in measures to make sure people slow down when they are driving along Cousin Lane between A629 Keighley Road and Ovenden Way.
Better for cycling
We’re making small changes to the layout of this section of road so that cycling feels safer.
Plans
Overview of (the most up-to-date) plans for Cousin Lane [full size]
We’re proposing:
- To upgrade walking routes through the snickets with wider paths, resurfacing, vegetation clearance, dropped kerbs and tactile paving.
- Changes to traffic calming along Cousin Lane between A629 Keighley Road and Ovenden Way to make roads safer for cycling and walking. We’ll put in things like speed tables, raised junctions, speed cushions, road narrowing in places, and patterned surfacing to reduce speed.
- Road markings and better signage at the junction with Turner Place.
- New and improved crossing points, raised surfacing at junctions, and speed tables to make walking and cycling safer along Cousin Lane.
- Continuous footways along Cousin Lane to slow traffic and make it easier to cross.
- New planting along Cousin Lane.
