Plans

We have built on improvements already made to this Grade I listed building, including the renovated main hall. 

We have:

• Opened up the grand entrance and installed an external ramp so visitors can enter through the Victorian lobby; 
• created a new multi-function reception space;
• made changes to the courtroom to create a level multi-use space;

• upgraded one of the toilets on the ground floor to an accessible unisex toilet;
• installed a new warming kitchen on the first floor, making it safer to cater for large events;  
• installed a new bar and high-quality audio system in the main hall; and

• added male and female toilet and changing facilities under the stage area.

This project is part of the Todmorden Town Deal, a £17.5m regeneration programme to develop the local economy and transform this market town.

Progress

The main programme of work at Todmorden Town Hall is complete, marking a major milestone in the £1million project: Council delivers a Town Hall fit for the future.

8 September 2025

Work to breathe new life into Todmorden Town Hall is progressing well, with the completion of the first improvements at the iconic building.

To improve the visitor experience at events, new facilities are now in place on the first floor including; a new bar in the main hall, a new warming kitchen and new toilets and changing areas under the stage area. 

10 April 2025

Code Building Solutions have been appointed to carry out the improvements to Todmorden Town Hall with work on site now underway. 

 Todmorden Town Hall will remain open throughout the renovations.
